Inclusive business incentives are a type of travel that includes everything that the traveler will typically need. This ranges from the business meeting rooms to meals and a room, and may even cover a few recreational activities in some cases. The good news is that not only are inclusive business incentives easy to plan, they are affordable and good for public relations.

Why are inclusive business incentives typically good for public relations? The answer is that most of the venues offering the best deals on inclusive business incentives are developing countries that are placing an emphasis and promoting their tourism infrastructure. Governments around the world are passing law after law to compete for inclusive business travel of all kinds, which typically makes the inclusive business incentives even more desirable as the locations can be very exotic.

There are also more traditional inclusive business travel destinations that also offer great inclusive incentives, but the best deals are often in developing nations. For those that prefer specific destinations, such as Hawaii or the Cayman Islands, there are still great bargains to be had by going with inclusive travel planning versus paying the local rate and negotiating with several vendors for a wide variety of goods, services, and entertainment options. This makes inclusive business incentives affordable compared to any alternative, even if the good PR option is not taken.

Corporate travel rewards can often be difficult to book. Trying to find out what an employee, retail partner, or prized client wants can be an exercise in futility. It’s often hard to get an answer if you ask, and if it’s supposed to be a surprise it’s just a guess anyway on the part of the Big Boss.

One destination that has a high rate of success and approval is the tropical island. Although it is generally a popular destination, the idea of the private island is sometimes forgotten. Anyone who wants to give the gift of relaxation, beautiful scenery, and peace should consider the private island as a destination.

Private does not necessarily mean free of options. It doesn’t mean your client will be marooned until she decides she is no longer stressed and can come home. It means that there are choices. She can stay in bed for the whole trip if she wants, lie on the beach and read, but there is sometimes golf, tennis, equestrian activities, and much more a short distance away. But on a private island it means you don’t even have to be aware of them.

These amazing destinations can also be romantic. If your client knows that the traveler has an anniversary coming up, you can book a honeymoon island. You can find special dinners for couples, and even activities just for the two of them.

So before you throw your hands in the air in despair over a difficult plan, find out if there is space on an island somewhere. You have a good chance of being successful.

So you have planned a meeting on foreign soil. It’s not even that foreign, it’s Canada for Pete’s sake. What can go wrong?

If you have ever said those words in those circumstances, you already know how wrong that was. No matter where people are traveling outside the U.S. borders, there are rules and regulations. It’s difficult–if not impossible–to know them all, and they change frequently

In the May, 2009 issue of “Smart Meetings,” John Anderson illustrates that  point very well with an example from Canadian entry regulations in his article “Bienvenidos Bienvenue and Welcome.” Not only does one now need a passport to travel into the country by any means, Canadian officials can deny a traveler entry for having a criminal record. And who could blame them? However, it becomes important in that case to understand what a criminal record is. Continue reading »

If you have a client who wants a special activity included in a meeting package–and there is a river in that city–your problem is solved. Many people who would not normally enjoy a cruise on the seas might love a river cruise, and almost any city with a major river in or near it will have a wonderful river cruise package.

Some of the favorite river cruise packages for business meetings include regions like Egypt, Europe, and even China. These destinations are exciting anyway, but adding a river cruise makes the experience unforgettable. Participants will see the beauty that seems to line riverbanks all over the world, learn about local cultures, and enjoy great food and beverage selections. Continue reading »
